Diskussion:billiard
The game is called billiards, not billiard. Billiard table (billardbord) is correct however. Billiard is only used as a noun modifier (e.g. billiard ball, billiard cue). User:Donnanz.
- The game billiards is called ”billard” in Danish (see https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billard). The definition written in Danish as ”Om ting der har at gøre med spillet billard”, which translates into English as ”Concerning things having to to do with the game billiards” or ”Pertaining to the game of billiards” therefore seems correct enough to me. The definition written in Danish does clearly only cover the English adjective (or noun modifier) and not the noun, and thus not any English noun ”billiards” or ”billiard” - but indeed billiard ball, billiard cue, billiard sports, and other things pertaining to the game of billiards.
- Foreign languages can be confusing.

Ah, now I've read it again it's OK! Foreign languages can indeed be confusing - it works both ways!
Thanks for answering. User:Donnanz.
